What is it?

Jovis Bon-Hovis and the Creation Crew is a fun, vibrant and exciting show full of comedy, drama and colour.

We have set out to produce a programme which doesn't alienate itself from the world that our children inhabit. We are building on 'Safe to Live" principles, which encourage our kids to see their faith and the word of God as positive, normal and trustworthy companions in daily life.

This show is different. It's a kids" Christian TV show firmly grounded in the Christian faith, produced in the UK and aimed at children between the ages of 4-10 years old (certain elements of the show may appeal to younger or older groups).

Using key elements like 'Scripture Time" and 'Story Time', we introduce faith, Scripture and the gospel of Christ into everyday situations which children can relate to, and offer them the word of God as valid and trustworthy for everyday reference and relationship.

The Scenario:

The programme is set in the bright, cartoon-styled home of our lead character, the loveably flawed and unfailingly repentant Jovis Bon-Hovis. The protagonist shares his residence with a diverse group of dynamic and lively puppet animals, namely the Creation Crew, who he interacts with and engages with as characters in each episode's story arc.

The Formula:

In each episode, through his actions and/or interactions with the Creation Crew, a relevant, convincing and amusing flaw is revealed in the character of Jovis Bon-Hovis. Within the environment of the house, a witty and vibrant morality play is played out, as Mr Bon-Hovis comes to realise the error of his ways and face up to the requisite change of moral direction!

Several key elements are introduced along the way, which serve to reveal the shortcomings of the lead character, as well as illustrate the issues involved, and celebrate the issues as resolved!

These are Story Time, Song Time, Scripture Time, Adventure Time and Arty Crafty Time.

Each element serves a specific purpose as a narrative device, giving the entire show a robust and well-rounded feel.

Story Time: Every episode contains a story written especially for the show, to substantiate the show's unique lesson. Each story is written in consideration of a Scriptural teaching also to be included in the show. As far as Jovis Bon-Hovis is concerned, it's simply 'story time', but it soon becomes clear that the resident librarian, Booky Worm, has in fact carefully selected the story to illustrate bad behaviour in action and the consequences of poor choices which relate quite uncannily to what's been going on in the house!

Story time is usually enough to bring a sense of realisation to Jovis, and to cause him to reflect upon the error of his ways and seek the favour of those he has wronged by apologising! Resources like colouring in illustrations and supporting hard-copy story books containing original material from the shows should be available soon.

Song Time: A great opportunity to get out of the house for a bit of fresh air! Every episode carries a song which takes us away from the studio for a laugh and a dance around. Kids are encouraged to sing along with the words on screen, and a full season of 13 shows will present a large volume of unique content which kids will enjoy again and again! Every 'Song Time" song has been written and produced specifically to support the on screen narrative. For example 'We're Not Lazy!" supports a story in which Jovis abuses the good nature of his friends by being a lazy layabout! Song time is usually offered as a light, fun shaking down after Mr Bon-Hovis has been through a genuine albeit amusing repentance.

Scripture Time: 'I could tell you anything, don't believe a word of it if it's not in the Bible!" These few words represent the founding principles of Scripture Time. The Bible is something we can always trust, always rely on and always find safety in.

When Mr Bon-Hovis is looking for absolute clarity to support what he thinks he's learned, Scripture is introduced into the show as casually as any other element, as a normal part of everyday life. We don't stop having fun because it's scripture time, we don't put on a grim face to be around God! Scripture Time serves to reinforce what we've learned through the story, and turns the experiences of the day into a joyful and positive learning experience, offering relief and a way forward in the context of God's truth.

Adventure Time with the Creation Crew Kids: Jovis Bon-Hovis and the Creation Crew isn't a non-stop Bible bash. Every episode offers a lovely outside adventure time with Betsy, Bella and Flossie, the adorable Creation Crew Kids. Currently ranging in age from 3yrs to 7yrs, Adventure Time offers children around the world to glimpse the lives of a typical group of English girls as they embark on a variety of very loosely scripted workaday adventures ranging in content from cleaning out a gerbil cage to baking a cake, walking a dog or making a den in the bedroom.

Such typically engaging and endearing activities captivate children and often offer a real-life insight of equal value to any contrived message. Adventure time presents an opportunity to relate to other children on TV in an unusually relevent and intimate way, encouraging a sense of brand loyalty, warmth and belonging towards the show.

Adventure Time is usually loosely linked to the narrative by merit of its relevance to friendship, relationships and being kind and honest.

Arty Crafty Time: Arty Crafty time encourages kids to engage in some light, quick and fun arts and crafts aimed at using memory by association to give longevity to the lessons learned during the show.

For example, during a show where Jovis Bon-Hovis rejects his close friend in favour of some wacky malfunctioning technology, Arty Crafty Time gets kids involved in creating a 'Friends Always Welcome" sign to hang on their bedroom doors!

The projects are kept simple, quick and easy to follow. It's a great feature for encouraging viewers to visit your website to review content.

Meet the characters:

Stripy Monkey is Jovis Bon-Hovis's best friend and loyal sidekick. Interaction between these two often offers comic relief, as Monkey's main purpose is to casually interact and make running commentary with Jovis.

Monkey is always involved in Arty-Crafty Time, and always gets the project completely, wrong with hilarious results!

He is a sweet tempered, loud, cheery London likely-lad, in the mould of the lovable cockney chimney sweep.

He doesn't suffer from the same daily struggles as Mr Bon-Hovis, and is often the first to recognise if something is going awry!

Booky Worm is the Librarian who lives inside the BIG BIG BOOK and cannily recommends the day's story with an agenda; namely to enlighten Mr Bon-Hovis by showing him examples of his own type of bad behaviour in action in other situations. It seems easier for him to see bad choices in others than in himself!

He takes on the character of an extremely well-to-do upper class gentleman, who is very well-spoken and polite. He is a kind and soft person, but wise and easily offended.

Dora Mouse's role is to finally lead Jovis Bon-Hovis to the point of recognising the error of his ways and into repentance and apology. She lives behind a little wooden door down by the floor in Mr Bon-Hovis's sideboard. In a sweet little voice spoken by a five year-old female actress, Dora calls Jovis to reflect on his own actions as compared to those of the characters in the story. Drawing comparisons finally enables Jovis to see himself in the light!

Woody Louse is a hilarious antagonist, who lives behind a brick in the wall of Mr. Bon-Hovis's kitchen. He has 'Go Away!" rudely scrawled across his door, which aptly epitomises his attitude towards the other residents of the house!

He would be very comfortable in the same room as Oscar the Grouch and Ebenezer Scrooge, and is always happy to get into an argument and is never afraid of offending people. He has his own best interests at heart! He doesn't quite take on the role of an outright enemy though, and could loosely be considered a member of the creation crew!

Early Bird lives in a nest in one of Mr Bon-Hovis's house plants, and takes on the role of the alarm clock. She always wakes the house up bright and early in the opening credits, and is a cheery and loud character, offering endearing charm through her voice, that of a seven year old female actress.

In Conclusion

We are committed to a process of development and improvement of a show which aims to meet the highest standards of quality. The show is built on firm Christian principles, and the producers have the deepest desire to touch the hearts of children and fill them with good, relevant and appropriate spiritual food at its roots.

Jovis Bon-Hovis and the Creation Crew will offer children fun, educational and eye-opening entertainment which explores and resolves Christian faith issues in ways children can relate to, and which are safe for them to ingest, digest and implant into their everyday lives.
